The Story

A celebration of Mojave Desert wildflowers and blooming plants against the rock formations of Joshua Tree National Park. The mural includes desert primroses, desert lilies, lupine, encelia, verbena, and flowering cacti.

The 2021 brochure notes that spring bloom varies dramatically from year to year depending on rainfall during the preceding fall and winter—so the mural preserves a version of the desert at its most colorful even when nature does not repeat the display on schedule.
